Thanks so much for the link Chris. I looked at it and it surely is relevant. Never heard of Oliver though until you pointed me to his blog.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Chris :D.

This is a great article. Oliver Blanchard did a beautiful presentation about understanding social media that has been very helpful in presenting a workable package to clients who do not completely understand the components of good community. I'll post the link here - I'm not sure if Oliver still has his PPT available on slideshare or anywhere, but it is damn good and still very relevant.

Fabulous input Sheldon :). That's why many people complain about ROI. They are not in the right places or they are not targeting right.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting Sheldon.

Great piece Kwame!
I find that a lot of companies getting in to social media seem to have all of these concerns.
My number one advice for people getting into the game is your #4. Too many people think they have to be everywhere in social media when they should be mainly concerned on where there target demographic is. Yes, it's a good idea to try and be somewhere before your customers are, but focus should be put into the places where they already are most prevalent. Once you have a good relationship with your current customers in the places they are, then would be the time to start exploring other venues. Always start with what you know first though.

Cheers,
